Water and cement - Collision of soft and hard

Droplet and surface - Transition of motion and rest

Rhythmic droplets and a pointing thrust – Counterbalance of machine and nature

A and B – virtual and real – link and connection

With cement, paper and water as the creative medium, handcraftsmanship serves as the bridge to connect the three.

Droplets, dripping at intervals of one second, hit the cement which has yet to dry. This motion lasts until 32’02” when the cement finally sets. The water splash from the impact created emptiness. This is followed by transferring the water with the index finger to paper. The paper, of the same mass as the cement, took up water in one finger-point portions per second. This motion lasts until 20’39” when water is used up.

A natural body acts mechanically to mimic the relationship among the three objects – the un-set cement, water before being stored, and paper before being marked. Eventually, it is just a translocation among organic and inorganic bodies, transition of subject and object – the order makes the variation.
